World War

The card game War typically involves two players. In the variation known as World War three or four players(nations) play. The game is played using a standard deck of cards. There are also specialty cards available that may be more appealing to the younger players.

What You'll Need
A standard deck of playing cards without the Jokers or a deck of cards specifically designed for playing the game.

The Object
Be the player to capture all the cards.

Setting Up the Game
Shuffle the cards.
In a three player game each player is dealt 17 cards.
In a four player game each player is dealt 13 cards.

Players place their cards in a stack face down.

Playing the Game
All players turn over the top card of their deck and present it for "battle".
Cards rank in value from 2 (lowest) to Ace (highest).
Whoever turned over the highest valued card "captures" the opponents cards and adds all three or four cards face down to the bottom of their deck.

Players then turn over their next card and play continues. If two players present cards of equal value all players(nations) lay down four cards. The first three cards are placed face down while the fourth is placed face up. The player whose fourth card is the highest captures all the played cards. If everyone's top card is of equal value, the process is repeated until someone wins.

Winning the Game
The player that captures all the cards is the winner.
